Moto G (2nd Gen) or Nexus 5?

I have an iPhone as my day to day, but want an android phone for backup/holiday phone.

Was looking at nexus 5, I've had a Moto E in past, but now thinking maybe a Moto G (2nd gen)

Which is best? They will both be around same price, altho the Moto will be new whereas nexus 2nd hand.

Also I've just seen that the Moto G can be bought in a dual SIM version. Now here in UK the network 3 do a great deal for holiday whereby you can use your monthly mins, texts, data abroad. I'm not on 3 but will get a PAYG fitted holiday, but still use my contract non 3 SIM for texts to contact family etc (saves giving treo number etc).

Never had a dual SIM phone, do they both work at same time? Or do I need to switch off phone and chose?

So I know I'm posting this in Moto G forum, but hopefully some have used both phones and can tell me about then.

It'll be a SIM unlocked Moto, will this have or get lollipop?
