Moto G and T-Mobile 3G

So I'm thinking of switching from Virgin to T-Mobile and get a Moto G. But how good/fast is T-Mobile's 3G?
 
Compared to any CDMA EDVO network, it's quite fast. If you have 3G signal in your area, you'll like average 4-8mbps down and 1-2mbps up. Just don't get the GPE of it because it doesn't support T-Mobile's main HSPA frequency
 
Google just sold Motorola to Lenovo. Google made a big loss too.

Now is China company.

1. Lenovo has nothing to do with phones already released except support issues as the design/creation was all done under google.

2. Google kept much of the patents (which is why they really bought motorola mobility to begin with) and already sold part of the business for a decent chunk before this. I don't really think they lost money in all of this. Probably more of selling off the parts that won't make them as much (the actual business and not the patents).

There are plenty of decent Moto phones I wouldn't let that deal cause me to not buy one if I were interested.
 
Make sure you test the 3G in your area. I'm lucky because my T-Mobile signal is strong at home and at work. It wasn't always that way. I came from Sprint and VM is on Sprint's network so I feel your pain. I was overly happy when I saw the speeds of T-Mobile compared to Sprint. It wasn't even a contest. T-Mobile absolutely blew Sprint's 3G speeds away.
 
I'd look at buying the Moto X over the Moto G, as the Moto X is currently on sale for $70 off until Valentine's day (16GB for $329, 32GB for $379).

Is that from T Mobile directly? I'm currently under contract with Sprint & in order for T Mobile to pay my ETF I have to buy directly from them. But I didn't see the Moto X on their website.

That is odd. If you use Moto Maker, which you get to from your link by selecting the "Moto X" menu and selecting "Design Yours", it shows the discount. You can see the discount by either hovering over the star next to "Promotions", or by going far enough into the design process to select the GSM Unlocked/T-Mobile option.

It appears if you don't design your own, but merely select either the Black or White basic version, that it doesn't add the discount.
 
The discount on the Moto X is completely separate from the promotion that Whiskeypawz mentioned - and he's correct: to get T-Mobile to pay your ETF you must purchase a device directly from T-Mobile. Just purchasing a device that works on their network won't cut it.
