Moto G5plus vs Huawei Honor 6x

Both seem like great phones, and I got them each for under $200. Which one should I keep?

I'll be using AT&T. Use my phone mostly for web-browsing and multitasking. I like good battery life, accurate photos, and good overall lifespan.

Both phones seem to suit these needs, although their batteries cannot be easily replaced if they eventually die.

My main concern with the Moto is that the last security update is January 2017. I thought they released a newer one but the phone is saying it is completely updated.

I've seen discussions of at least two updates for the Moto G5 Plus:
August update NPN25.137-83
May update NPNS25.137-35-5

Motorola says it will continue to get updates.

I heard that too, but apparently, my phone missed the memo. I did the typical about phone > check for updates and it told me it is up to date with the January update
