I connect my spare Moto E6 Plus every few days or week to keep it up to date.

It nearly always has a notification of another Motorola offer already on the screen.

There is no sim card in the phone.

WiFi is always turned off when I put it to rest, and shows off when I return to the phone days later with a new Motorola notification.
I don't have home WiFi. I need to turn on Hotspot on another phone, or my Mifi device fitted with another data sim.

When I turn the Moto wifi on, dozens of mostly email notifications flood in. I keep all my regular apps and notes up to date if I ever want to switch. (It's very light and small) It's still getting security patches.

I've had several Motorola"s and get regular emails.

How does it receive Moto Notifications when it's unconnected, in Airplane and Battery Saver Mode in a drawer?

"SHOP NOW" is basically an ad. Ads don't need to be received in real-time, unlike message notifications or something. So I guess they're just been downloaded and cached in the background, during the times that the phone is online "every few days". It's not magic.

These ads or promos that Motorola is pushing, are presumably something you can disable, so you won't see them at all.

OK. I was partly thinking that may be the case; that while I have it connected for at least two hours or so, about once a week - then go to turn off wifi and hibernate it with no notifications showing, they are already there. Still not entirely convinced as I've had a lot of them over months, and they seem to reference an offer or new model within the last two days or a weekend.
I was also going to mention the "14 mins ago" on the pop up when I've seen similar "ago" stamps before, so not sure whether "ago" refers to say 14 mins before it was previously disconnected, or 14 mins before I connected it days later.

It's a funny one. I'm going to keep an eye on it more to see if I can pin it down: or catch the Elves when they think I'm sleeping.

Well, yikes, I discovered a built in app in my app drawer I never knew I had - Motorola Notifications. I assumed it was the old Moto (?) app for guides and troubleshooting. Can happen I guess if I only used it as a daily for a short period.

This Moto Notifications app has nothing but a single page, and a page? if you click to unsubscribe.

I still don't know how it shows new notifications while the phone has remained sim - free unconnected, or off, for more than a week at times and displays new items before wifi is connected.

(I had also downloaded the Motorola UK app for new models and offers)
