[Moto V2] Temporarily Disable Pedometer?

AMaine

Newbie
I have a Moto 360 2nd gen, and I love the idea of having a pedometer on me all the time. However, I am a vocal music teacher and play piano all day long, sometimes from 7 in the morning till around 9 at night at this time of year (hooray musical season). My watch mistakes my piano playing for steps - a lot of steps. I keep trying to turn off the pedometer function on Moto Body (and I've tried it on Google Fit and on Jawbone's Up as well, all in turn) and they all seem to stop counting, but as soon as I turn it back on, it shows that it's actually been silently counting the "steps" the whole time and they all show up. Does anyone know a way to convince my watch that i am in fact not walking while I'm sitting on a piano bench?

force stop the app and deny notifications from the wear app.

ive the same model and i dont want the thing telling me how many steps , etc either.

But that would just stop the notifications, right? I actually want to know how many steps I'm taking. I just don't want my arm movements counted as steps.
