Moto X Survey?

shalemail

Android Expert
So did anyone else get a survey from Motorola yesterday? I got one emailed to me with an offer for 20% off my next Moto accessory. It was just a general survey covering all carriers and methods of purchase asking about my overall experience, how I liked the phone, what I was looking at besides the Moto X, why I bought the Moto X, etc.

Anybody else?

Yep, I've received the same email. I think Moto is taking this rather seriously, as a lot of their moves are mirroring some of the intentions and follow-up that I've seen in other markets.

Good stuff.

I had serious issues narrowing this down to 5:

Using the list below, please select up to 5 main reasons why you ultimately decided on Moto X.

almost the same for me, I really wanted another 5 though.

Would have added:

- Assembled in the USA
- First product after Google's acquisition of Motorola
- Overall look/appearance of the phone
- 4G LTE capability speeds
- 4.7” HD Display
- (other) THAT IT IS NOT A PHABLET

(yes I probably would have typed that in caps)

Yeah that's why I left out LTE in my 5, but I felt like I had to choose Android Operating System seeing as I write Android apps for a living. Kinda had to be my #1 priority :D

But yeah, I am really digging the screen size and phone size too. And the made in USA thing is great. (though their shipping process is terrible heh).

But I think I probably could have summed up the whole survey with one sentence:

I got the Moto X because they stopped trying to push absolute bleeding edge hardware specs and remembered to make an awesome phone instead.

all that needs to be said

The spec war started because Android started very janky and not very smooth. They had to push max specs so consumers would hope they would get a clean OS experience. Its nice to see Android in a place where its more stable. Allowing phones like this to be made.

Active Display, fit in hand, Google owned, and almost stock were mine. Battery would be added, but I didn't know that about the phone right away.

Made in the USA is nice and I want that to happen more. But that doesn't make me automatically buy a product. :p

Where specs may matter is 18 months from now, when the "L" or even "M" version of android is released -it may be the Moto CPU is weaker than the snapdragons in the latest handsets from the competition and runs poorly. We'll see...

Btw, assembled in the USA is not the same as made in the USA. It's just final assembly that is happening in Texas. Still desirable, but not as desirable.

I had the same issues, but decided to narrow it by what I used most or what I'd absolutely like them to retain, followed by what I'd sell to a casual user. I figure Motorola already knows it's the sum of its parts which sold this device, if I'm willing to do a survey.:p

-Battery life
-Overall look/appearance
-Fit in hand
-Active display
-Best of Android without unnecessary pre-loads

I think enough of them will overlap with other features, anyway. I'm also going to have to throw in the quick capture. It probably doesn't shave a bunch of time when launching the camera, but twisting while raising to eye level in one motion is nice. Also, people tend to like it, so it passes both my gimmick and functionality test.:D

Agreed, I wrote a variation of this in the "why did you choose the Moto X" section.

Funny, I think those were my options too. Fit in hand was big for me, the form factor on this phone is stellar. Other manufacturers would do well to learn something from Moto on this one.

EVERYONE - and I do mean EVERYONE that I have allowed to play with this phone loves it and comments on how nice it feels.

There was a link?

I just said "OK Google, send my thanks to Moto for an awesome device", and Google Now made me a sammich.
