Moto Z Force Droid, FoxFi and Verizon Wireless

I have a Moto Z Force Droid that I purchased from Verizon Wireless on 11/25/2016 I have been a user of FoxFi and as we all know, that software no longer works. I have Android 7.0

1. Has anyone found a work around?
   
   
2. Has anyone found an alternative app that will work with this phone/provider combo?
   
   
3. Anyone else frustrated with the lack of volume for ringtones/notification tones?

Before the last update the method of taking out sim tray and putting back in and launching the built in hotspot before signal fully connected worked (needed good timing) still worked. I have not tried since. XDA users report that still works as of 12/2016

UPDATE: I caved in and went to the new Unlimited plan to save over $100 on my monthly. The new plan includes 10 GB hotspot (officially) which is one of the reasons I switched, just convenient.
