Help Moto Z Force Text to speech not working

Recently this function has stopped working. The Microphone icon is on the key board but when pressed it flashes initializing then nothing. I have rebooted the phone with no change. I haven't factory rest it yet since I don't want to lose all my data.

Based on the contray your data will be okay even after resetting.
It is safe to reboot it, and your data will be fine.
