Motorola Assist app update now in the Play Store

To my knowledge this update does not fix many of its problems. While I appreciate the ability to make custom reply messages it does not give us the freedom we had in Smart Actions. Namely - for me - the meeting mode is useless since I don't work a white collar job with scheduled meetings. I need to be able to push a button and set the meetings mode as needed. (Also I used to be able to program other things like a "Work" mode - where I could get texts and email but not phone calls).

Also, I might add (if by any remote chance anyone from Moto is reading) this is the main reason why I came back to the Motorola phone instead of the many other choices out there. Smart Actions really won me over!

There are other options, Tasker, which I've looked at on a friends phone ($3.00 I believe), but I'm a cheapskate at heart. I'm hoping Motorola will fix Assist; judging from the store and other message boards, I am def NOT alone in being disappointed.

Llama is very free and can handle the profile changes part of assist, location awareness based on cell locations, etc. You can put widgets on the home screen to have one push change of profile. It can change profiles based on calendar events, etc.

I think the one thing it can't do is sense speed of movement, but the assist app seems to do that well enough, so you can use assist for that and Llama for other things.

Yes, I should investigate Llama, Ive heard good things. But I really wish they'd fix Assist. The driving and sleeping part works fine, just the meetings are a complete fail.

motorolla assist always turn on when I am in a car as paaseger.
How do I fix it?

Pull down the notification shade. It will have a notification that says that driving assist mode is active (I don't recall the exact warning.) There should be a tappable notifications below that says "I'm not driving". You can tap that to turn off the mode. If you don't see it, drag down on the Driving Mode enabled message to show it.

most of the time I forgot to turn off the "I'm not driving" .
Is that any fix that can distinguish between driver and passenger?
thank
bb

While this is an amazing device, it is incapable of detecting whether you are the driver or the passenger of a car.
Yes, the day my phone can tell what I'm actually doing is the day I'll be giving up all electronics and living in a cave with books. :bath: :vroam:
