Motorola H17txt headset with MotoSpeak a marketing trick? (bordering on rip off)

ok so for those who dont know, this headset here H17txt with MotoSpeak? - Overview - Motorola USA is advertised to be super califrgilisticouspiralidociously awesome because it reads texts (SMS) to you and recognizes web lingo such as lol, brb, or omgrolfwtfwthbbq! ok maybe not that one, but you know that I mean. That sounds pretty awesome and all, and many review websites seem to be in awe about it..except that it isnt the headset that is responsible for this features, at all...It is the MotoSpeak app. (insert Duh! here)

As a matter of fact, Motorola themselves admit to the fact that the MotoSpeak app actually works with a bunch of other Motorola headsets..apparently the headset just needs to support A2DP...

Do you have any idea what the benefit is of upgrading to motospeak pro? Is it that it just reads more than 25 word when reading SMS? I can't find any more about it. Clicking upgrade takes you to the order page. No more info. Not worth an annual fee just for reading more of your texts.

I also have (had-just stepped on it ) H17txt and found that it also works with the App drivesafe.ly Sooo I have to find another headset with a2dp that will also work with drivesafe.ly. Any recommendations of a bluetooth headset with a2dp that also works with drivesafe.ly? (I have a DROID X 1)
