Motorola phones are GARBAGE.

It seems that with the Motorola Moto x pure, there was nowhere to go but UP. It has the mto voice engine, (best voice command in the biz IMHO, A great Screen to body ratio, thin, and for it's time had a decent processor.
I believe this was before Lenovo acquired it,

What happened.
What's with all the plastic, shitty, low spec, phones that are all virtually the same phone?
Talk about dissapointed.
Just look at all the shitty specs. Old processors, low RAM, less pixels, lower sensors.
What a waste.

You can wait for the Moto G7+ to hit shelves or maybe check out the Moto E5 Plus "hannah".. Octacore with 5,000mAh battery, has TWRP and GSI ROM capabilities.. I think that'll be a solid device until they start selling the 5G devices. I'd shoot for one with the new x55 modem so ya have everything on one tiny chip instead of these bloated prototype monsters you're seeing advertised lately

Interesting. I've had nothing but Motorola smartphones--I'm on my 5th, a Moto Z² Force Edition, but also still use my 4th, a Moto X 2nd Generation, daily, which still works great after four years.

I haven't had a single problem with any of my five Motorolas. I can't think of anything about them that was/is bad, or that I didn't like.

Different strokes, I guess! :)

Lol. I understand. I am a high maintenance user.
I need a phone that will handle multiple radio apps, take pictures on demand via voice, stay charged for two days, read my messages by voice command, and make me a Caffe latte, for my work which includes battling distant aliens to save ungrateful humans from destruction. Its wonder that my current phone (An LG V30) hasn;t fried a chip or exploded with how much demand I put on it.
I've said this hundreds of time, but if they had simply added more RAM, a better chip, and a larger battery to the Motorola Moto X Pure, I'd have never left. I adored that phone.
But that was under google, and there has not been anything with flagship specs like what I need from them since then. (2015 under alphabet, before Lenovo)

I looked at the specs and they're STILL cheap bastards.
Older Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SDM636, as compared to my LG V30 from 3 years ago and it's Snapdragon 835 MSM8998
Weaker battery, at 3000 mAh compared to the LG V30's 3300 mAh
No serious bump in RAM

This is a perfect example of my point. They are making phones with specs from two to three years ago and acting like they're cutting edge new.
If I were to get a Motorola, I'd need at least a 3300-3500 mAh battery, with at least 6 GB RAM, the latest processors and Moto Voice. (Is it called Hannah, now?)
Anyway complain complain. Sorry. They really lost me on this one.

"Hannah" is the codename for Moto E5 Plus (5,000mAh battery)

I knew I was going to come to this juncture sooner or later....
What new phone should I get, for total hands-free- all-voice-activated, high RAM, fast processor, large screen experience?
And thanks for the comments. you guys are spot-on.

Of the three listed by @lunatic59 , I'd consider the Pixel 3 for extra options, like custom ROM Development and Rooting perks.. of course the price range is why I go for cheaper device that you CAN take a cheap phone and soup it up beyond stock capability. Kinda like making a Pinto outrun a Porsche, with the right ROM & setup. Heck, custom ROMs actually don't have all that excessive Google and OEM bloat unless you install it yourself.. IF that interests you, of course. I don't wanna confuse you in any way

Ha ha, yeah, I'm definitely not using my phones like that! :)

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what you end up with.

This phone is Str8 Trash! To even post this comment the lag was so long. Ugh! I only got this piece as a Replacement until my other Samsung arrives. What a waste. Camera is shitty at best. Takes all day just to log in to Any account. Let's not talk about sound quality. Should've just waited on my claim phone. Mistake was the makers of this catastrophe of a device Moto Pure-ly a waste of my hard earned green. I'm going back to Verizon where the Bill is astronomical but the devices are long lasting!
