Motorola Photon 4G vs Nexus S 4G

So I ended up getting a Samsung Epic 4G about a couple weeks ago and starting a contract with Sprint, decided that it wasn't the phone for me (keyboard was a bit tacky imo) and have been browsing around and plan on using my 30 day guarantee to get either the Photon 4G or the Nexus S 4G.

Can't really decide on which one, the Photon obviously being the powerhouse it is, though to boot I would need the docking station. But with the Nexus, though it's a bit outdated and weaker, I see it as the ultimate android device as there's basically no bloatware and you can root it all you want. Anyone else in my situation? If only I could try them both for a week:(

Check out both sub forums here. I'm trying to make the same decision. I also don't like my Epic. And I don't want another Samsung phone again, ever.

I opted for the EVO 3D and have ZERO regrets!!

I didn't like the screen on the Photon, and the locked bootloader doesn't work in it's favor either, but it has stellar RF!!

The Nexus is a great device with pure Android experience, but (A) I had some RF issues and (B) Sense on HTC devices is more pleasant over vanilla, IMO.

Finally, I like to root and flash different ROMs etc, so it had to be Nexus or HTC.

The EVO 3D is an amazing device, with and without the 3D function !

I just got rid of my Nexus S and replaced it with the Photon. I'm _much_ happier now! I swore after my Captivate that I'd never get another Samsung phone. I let the "pure Android experience" sway me into giving it Samsung another try. It was a nice phone when it worked, but I got tired of having to do battery pulls to get it to turn on.

Assuming you aren't enlightened enough to get in the evo 3d, I would get the photon. :-) You will probably have the phone for 2 years, so getting the most powerful phone possible seems wise to me. Future proofing.

:shrug I have the nexus with zero thoughts on another phone. I have no issues with reception or anything and I much prefer the vanilla android to sense or blur. most importantly, all the power in world won't matter when my nexus gets ics 6-12 months before anything else.
