Help Motorolla Droid 4 update disables 4G shutoff. Any way around it?

My phone updated this morning, and I now can't disable 4G service. Where I live, I barely get 4G and it kills my battery. I had it disabled before this update. Now, if I try apps like 4G toggler, it doesn't work. If I open 4G toggler, it just takes me to my phone settings which can't be modified. If I try to type in the *#*#4636#*#* as soon as I type in the last *, the rest of the number disappears. Any way around this yet?

LTE OnOFF works quite well. About halfway down there is a pull-down menu, select CDMA auto (PRL) to force your phone to 3G. You can change back to 4G by selecting LTE/CDMA/EvDO or go into settings and select it that way.
I have the same problem, 4G is very weak here but it's here so my phone is constantly searching for it.
