Help Motorolla Moto G or Samsung Galaxy Core LTE

I've been looking for an entry level phone for my mom. As all she does is talk and text. We're with Fido and carrying $25 Fido dollars. We are set on 2 options.
(1) Samsung Galaxy Core LTE ($0.00)

(2) Motorolla Moto G ($80.00 -> $55 after Fido dollars)

The sales rep was trying to convince me the Moto G is a better phone.

What's your guy's opinion?

Thanks

Actually, I have many choices:

(1) Samsung Galaxy Core LTE ($0)

(2)Motorolla Moto G LTE ($55)

(3) Sony Xperia M2 ($55)

(4) HTC Desire 510 ($35)

(5) ZTE Grand X Plus ($25)

All prices are after applying fido dollars.

I have no idea on performance for android phones, because I come from using iPhones. My mom was using a small HTC before.

I'd say the Moto G or the xperia would be my choices, but to be honest if all she does is talk and text then go with the cheapest option.

That is true. I looked at some reviews about the CORE. The interface seems easy to use, and it's not laggy (for her usage).

I may teach her how to use the web now :)
