Help Moved from Android 4.0.4 to 5.1.1: lost Notepad app

John_L

Lurker
I recently upgraded my smartphone, and moved from Android 4.0.4 to Android 5.1.1.

I exported my Notepad notes, but have found no Notepad app native to 5.1.1.

Can anyone recommend one of the Notepad apps on the Google Play Store that will allow me to import my notes from 4.0.4?

Could you be a little more specific? Which phone do you have and do you know exactly which notepad app you were using? It could simply be that the new app is looking in the wrong folder.

Unfortunately, the app in question was standard with 4.0.4, and missing in 5.1.1.

I'm interested in a replacement, from Google Play Store, that will correctly import the exported 4.0.4 Notepad data, while running on 5.1.1.

It's an Android OS "takeaway", and I'm hoping for a solution. I think that the make and model of my smartphone is immaterial.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do they import notes saved by Android 4.0.4 Richnote? My main concern is re-accessing existing (prior application) data.

The exported files are named 1_scr, 2_scr, etc. (no MIME filetype), and a file names backup.rnt.

Thanks again for your help.

I don't know, I can't recall what the 4.0.4 note pad app look like anymore, and at the time, I did not use it.
so never tried to export any of it.

do you have the files stored on a PC? if so, give me your email via a PM here, and I will reply to you and then you can send them to me that way.... I will see what I can do about opening them up and exporting them into something readable.
