Movie Playback help

Hey all,

I recently bought a Nexus 7" and I'm a complete newbie with Tablets, even my phone is some 2 year old android device :]

I bought it so that I can watch movies whilst travelling around, the free Transformers looks wonderful, but I try to play .avi and they do not work, so I done a little research and downloaded MXPlayer, this manages to play them but the screen size is tiny (A little smaller than I bank card) with awesome quality, but I want to be able to see the screen larger, but this means I have to stretch the picture, giving me bad viewing quality.
I have managed to play some mp4 files and they look fine, so should I just download a video converter and see how that works? Or am I missing something here? Would suck not being able to get the best quality as this is what I've bought it for!

Also, which is the best App for buy Movies for tablets? I see alot of "Rent Apps" but I want to use it offline...

Thanks!

It means the movies you have are of low resolution. You'd need higher resolution videos so that they fill up the screen without losing quality. Try to get the movies ripped at a high quality.

Where is the best place to get movies for a Galaxy S3? Sites like Iptorrents.com ? Is there a particular file type that the S3 will only play?

Meh, I just have high quality DVDRip movies on my computer, and since I have Kies installed, every time I try to transfer a movie to my Galaxy, I get asked if I want it automatically converted to a format my device likes. I just click OK and that's it.

And I'd recommend buying the DVD and ripping it yourself.
