Movies not playing on my G2x from SD card.

When I upload my mp4 files into the onboard memory on my G2x, they play with no problem. But ony my SD card, it doesn't. It keeps giving me "Format not supported" error. Same file it was played before. Also, when I transfer that file back to my laptop, the laptop gives me file not supported. Does the phone convert the file own its own? I use handbrake to convert my movies to mp4 file. Does android need a specific convert settings to play? Thanks

If it will play on the internal memory, then the OS is completely capable of playing the file. Try taking the card out of the phone, then put it back in. Sounds like the phone isnt reading off the sd card.

By the way, to eliminate the internal player issues, I suggest you to download MoboPlayer from Market and see if that application can play your videos from SD card.

Yea, im using mobo player. The player sees the movies, but doesn't play them. Could it be the setting s on the conversion are wrong?

Try rockplayer lite or vital player, they work on my tegra 2 gtab. Might work for you too. Also, not sure if mobo can do this, but rockplayer and vital player are able to tell you info on the file you are playing. So that might help you see if the file is being re-encoded by your G2x.

so I found a semi-fix to this problem. I transfered the movies to my internal memory on the G2x. Then I use Astro file manager app on the phone to transfer the movies into the sd card. I don't transfer the movie directly from the pc to the sd card. For some reason, when I do this, the phone and laptop corrupt the movie and becomes unplayable on the phone and pc. It not only makes that movie unplayble but any other movie on that card. The sd card was gonna be used for movies and music anyways. The internal memory is going to have my precious baby memories..lol.. I trust that over the SD card. I wondering If i got a bad sd card as well.
