moving apps to SD

I know that I can move some of my apps to my sd card, and I know how to do it, its rather simple, my main question is why can we not move almost all of our apps from our phone to the sd card, and is there anyway to override the ones that it doesnt allow, other then rooting.\

The reason not all apps can be on the SD card is that after the phone boots it may be awhile before they are available. This causes problems with apps that need to be started as part of the boot process, or are needed for the display (launchers, widgets).

No, there's no way without rooting. If you do root, the current Cyanogenmod ROM does have an option to let you move any app to the SD card, but they warn you that it might break some apps.

Also you may notice after you move an app to the sd card if it had a widget, that might not work once moved. Most apps with widgets will have a little warning about their widget not working if moved to the sd card.

There is a workaround to move all apps to SD card without being rooted.
We have made a Guide in HTC Desire forum section.

This way you force all apps to SD card, but it is advised to keep widgets in internal storage anyway to avoid them going away every time you start the phone.
