Moving contacts from broken samsung S5

Hi, I'm sure this is really simple... but I've no idea how to do it! Can I move contacts from my Samsung account onto a HTC?

I had a Samsung Galaxy 5s. Stupidly I saved almost all my contacts under Samsung account and phone rather than to my Google account.

My dog ate my Samsung! It still powers on but the screen is totally FUBAR. I have replaced it with a HTC One m8 and ported over all the contacts on my sim and my Google account.

Is there any way I can get the other contacts from my Samsung? I've tried logging into my Samsung account online but I can't see my contacts there at all.

Help please!!

If the phone was still operational then htc have a data transfer app that could be used, but it sounds like installing and running that won't be an option.

I've never set up a Samsung account (I have a Samsung tablet, but didn't see the point) so have no experience with that. If the contacts were synced you'd hope there was a way of exporting them, but unless there is some trick to finding them (and to be fair if you don't know where to look it isn't obvious how you see Gmail contacts online) it doesn't sound good.

If you can cast the screen to a TV or monitor, and control it using a USB mouse or keyboard (and OTG cable), you may be able to see export contacts then pull them over USB. But most sources I can find say that the S6 doesn't support MHL and I've no experience with say Chromecast so don't know how practical it is to set that up blind.
