Moving downloads to sd

Is it possible to move downloads to sd card? Probably that wouldn't be true for apps, apks, etc. but how about pdfs and pngs? I have 6.0.1 on S5 with 16 gb and 32 gb on the Infinitive sd card.

Yes, I do have X-plore, but perennial noob as I am, I have no idea how to use this powerful function. Please enlighten me. Heck, I can't even find downloads now.

Heh, that was embarrassing. The list was right there in my files. Besides a couple of pdfs and a few pngs, one of which failed to download, I have a bunch of apks. Can X-plore handle that?

if is failed to download means you need to set your storage location in settings to Sdcard it comes with phiones above 4.4.2 and if using android 5.1 and above you can format your memorycard as an internal storage to be using

Ok, but isn't that adaptive storage? I don't want to do that. I want this 32 gb sd card to be reusable without formatting in whatever device. It would be lamed if I set it up the wrong way. I just want to be able to put all things possible on it, and hope that isn't limited to photos, videos, and music.

rhen just move your files to your sdcard using ROOt explorer is very easy and efficient

Are you assuming this phone is rooted? I'm pretty sure it isn't. I wish! I did root a Kyocera Rise years ago, with a pc. It took days. Will ROOt explorer work on a nonrooted phone?

Hi, I don't know whether this is device dependent but on my HTC 10 I can move or copy files to and from internal storage/SD by going into settings, selecting the appropriate storage, navigating to eg. Downloads, long-pressing a file, tapping the 3 dot button top right to give a drop-down menu. Tapping Copy or Move let's you select the destination eg. SD Card. Navigate to your destination folder and tap Copy or Move.

This works even if the HTC File Manager is disabled.

It may be worth trying.

That looks great, but alas, I apparently do not have such options. I tried to move a pdf with X-plore, which it seems cannot get the permission it needs to do that. Is there some way I can grant that? Is there an end run to move a pdf (or apk)?

I finally just went to my files, long pressed on a pdf, "shared" it with X-plore, and apparently got it copied to the sd card. I did the same with another pdf. That's probably not the same thing as moving but I suppose better than nothing
