Moving From Captivate to Galaxy Nexus

Lurker
So I just got my Galaxy Nexus. I picked up an unlocked one from Expansys. Pricey but I guess that's to be expected.

Found it really easy to transition from my Captivate. It's pretty much move the SIM and walk through the setup screens. The Ice Cream Sandwich UI takes a bit of getting used to, coming off Froyo but I think I'm getting the hang of it. So far, no problems with AT&T. Voice, SMS and voicemail all work no problem. Seems to lock on to 3G just fine. Haven't seen it do EDGE yet but I'm assuming that's OK too.

Basic things I had to do for setup:
- move the SIM
- enter Google login info
- enter the voicemail phone number into the phone settings
- download apps from Market
So, yeah, nothing special. Pretty much what you'd expect from a new phone.

Compared to the Captivate...
- FAST! Quadrant benchmark shows 1749 vs 949.
- No file system lagging like you see on the Captivate.
- GPS is much more stable.
- Larger display. Looks marginally brighter.
- No bloatware.
- OTA updates. No messing with Kies.

Problems:
- Tweetcaster doesn't appear to work at all
- Can't mount internal storage using USB (this made transferring some data difficult)

Overall, not bad at all. The transition was less painful than I had expected. Of course, I've only had the thing for 5 hours so far.

Couple updates:

Maps Navigation seems to crash when typing in a destination. Seems to do it on the second digit of the street number. Very strange.

Went into "Odin" mode once. Had to pull the battery to reset.

Went into a coma once while charging. Very similar to the sleep bug the Captivate had.

When away from wifi, I'm seeing either "3G" or "H" as the data mode. Not sure if "H" is HSDPA or not. Haven't seen EDGE come up yet.

Browser's a bit odd. Seems to show me stripped-down previews of some sites, even when there's no mobile theme.

Looks like the battery is different from the Captivate one. Was hoping to use the old one as a spare. No luck.
