Moving Photos With Astro File Manager

Hi, I have the HTC Incredible and my phone started saving photos to phone memory, instead of the SD card.

I want to move the photos with Astro File Manager from emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA to the SD card.

Is there a way (with Astro or anything else) where I can move all the photos from phone memory to the SD card?

(And can you assume that I'm not all that bright when you describe it?)
 
Ok, here's how you do it.

1. Open up Astro and browse to the folder with the images you want to move.
2. Hit menu button, then "Edit", followed by "Select All". (the text will all turn orange.)
3. Select "Move" at the top of Astro.
4. Select "Up" on the top Astro menu until you reach a folder that will let you get into your sdcard.
5. Navigate through your sdcard folders to the destination.
6. Press "Paste" on the top menu to move all the files to your destination.
 
I've not been able to use Astro to move any file from emmc to sd or vice versa. I have been able to copy the files, then delete from the original location. I'm not sure why, but when I press Move and then Copy, nothing happens if the source/destination are on different storage devices. It WILL move from one folder to another on the same storage device.

He's just saying it would not allow him to use the Move feature. Only the Copy feature would work and since the files are copied from place to place, the original ones have to be deleted afterwards.

Shadowtech was right in correcting you. You said it wrong the first time. But now you're both saying the same thing, so it's all good.

Anyway, the reason for me posting is to point out that at a lower level (in the OS), move and copy are very different operations. Move simply changes where the file name appears in the directory listing, but does not move the data at all. As such, you can only move a file within the same storage device or partition. Copy actually replicates the data and file name in another place. Most desktop apps insulate users from the difference, allowing the user to "move" a file from one drive to another, when behind the scenes the app is actually copying the file and then deleting the original.
 
on the left side it says,"External SD Card." When i click on it, it then says, "Directory does not exist. create?" I press, "Ok," and it says, "Error writing file." how to i get the Astro File Manager to create the file so i can copy and paste?
