Help Moving WeChat Saved Files to a computer

I've saved a lot of wechat pics onto my phone and now I want to back them up on my computer. According to my phone the path for where the images should be is in the Tencent folder but the Tencent folder is inexplicably empty when viewed on my computer. The date it was modified is correct to when the last image was in there but there are no files or folders in it and it's registered as having 0 bytes when looked at through properties. So where are my images? I've systematically checked every folder, searched via file sizes, searched via images and searched by name for images but nothing works. I know it's possible to get them off the phone somehow, I've done it before but I'm really at a loss as to what the problem is.

Using a crappy Phicomm phone I bought in the airport when arriving in China a year ago. Don't even know what model it is.

For information, this is what the /tencent folder looks like on my Oppo phone.

This contains the stuff for all tencent apps.

Managed to get around it with a pretty inelegant solution by copying and pasting the file to a new location on the phone. Still I'd like to solve the mystery of the missing files so I don't have to do something so cumbersome again.
