Mp3 as ringtone?

This sounds so simple and I remember I was able to do it on my last android but its been a while since I've had one. I've transferred the song to my usb memory. how can I make it a ringtone?

For individual contacts ... It's simple. Just open a contact from your list / Ringtone / and Select from My Files.

I'm using "T-mobile contacts", The different contact options have different subcategories.

For the general ring, I see a small list of choices as a default ringer in the main settings menu, but haven't tried to change my phone.

Applications > Contacts > Select Contact by pressing them > Scroll to Select Ringtone > Select Sound from My Files and pick the file you want. DONE...

Check out free rings extended app on marketplace It will let you use ANY mp3 as a ringtone or notification tone!

Android does this natively, no apps needed... You just need to have the following folders set up - which is all that Free Rings does - SD > media > audio... Then insert the following folders: alarms, notifications, ringtones - and place whatever audio in them you want to use.

Although if you want to cut certain parts of songs into ringtones, RingDroid is a great one.
