mp3 download apps

hi

im after a good free mp3 download app. my mates got 'mp3 download' from hades labs, but i cant find it on the market. hes tried sending it me by bluetooth but it just sends me a link that doesnt work.

any idea why this would be? and are there any other good download apps if this isnt available any more?

Not all apps are available for all phones or devices or OS versions. Also, it may just have been taken down, as those mp3 downloader apps aren't exactly legal.

are they not? i thought id read somewhere they were legal for the phone apps.

as for that specific app, my mates got a desire like mine, and is even trying to send me the app from his phone, but no good. can you not copy apps to computers, and let someone else copy them from there? where are apps kept on your phone or sd card?

thanks, ill give those a try. incidentally, where do the mp3s come from? theres no risk of downloading viruses from dodgy sites is there?

Any site that hosts the files, so it's definitely not legal.

There absolutely is. Some files can be viruses renamed to .mp3, sometimes there can be a virus embedded in the mp3.

really?? that surprises me. so everyone who is downloading these mp3s from these apps runs the risk of a virus? and we dont have av's on our phones do we? nobody i know does anyway.

is this really as risky as it sounds or is there something on the phone that would pick up a virus if downloaded?

How is that surprising? You are downloading songs you DIDN'T pay for, for free.

If you aren't downloading from a legitimate source, then you always run the risk of getting a virus.

It's likely you won't get a virus on the phone itself. However if you were to transfer that file to a computer, it could get infected.
