Help MP4 videos not playing with video

HTC One M9 IMEI:************ / IMEI SV:16 / Android Ver. 6.0 / Android Security Patch Level:August 1, 2016 / HTC Sense Ver. 7.0 / Software No. 3.38.502.17 - Phone takes forever to allow access to videos through usb connection and most times tells me "the selected resource is in use" when trying to access. All I am trying to do is copy and paste to computer. After I get them on my computer. audio plays. no video.

Hi there, first of all I took the liberty of obfuscating your IMEI, as it's not a good idea to put that out on the public internet, and we don't need to know it anyway. :)

Audio plays, but no video? My first thought is, what format are they in, what's the source, and do they have DRM?

you are speaking french to me. what is DRM? These videos were created using the camera in the phone. I recorded for 6 minutes, the phone stopped recording and saved the 6 minute video. I recorded 5 of them over christmas day and want to share with family, but video does not play using the windows media player.

What video player are you using? VLC works best on either PC or phone
The videos replay fine on the phone they were recorded on. But when I try to play on windows media player, only the audio plays. no video at all. It seems as all the info in the file may not be getting transferred when I copy to computer hard drive.

So the audio plays but no video, that sounds like an unsupported video codec problem. Windows Media Player could be the culprit. What version of Windows are you using, 98 or ME or XP or Vista or something?

Suggest you install and use VLC instead, as videos taken with the phone should play OK on that.

For information, DRM means Digital Rights/Restrictions Management. Which is basically for copyright protection and to restrict what devices you can share and play commercial bought videos on, such as movies and TV shows. If it's videos taken yourself with your phone, they won't have DRM.
