MTP-car. Choose folder to access

I don't have a problem getting my S2 running 4.0.3 to mount onto my car's stereo. In the past I could access, via the stereo, all my albums. Now, however, I can only access the folder which contains all my downloaded ringtones.

How do I get to choose which folder I can access? Is it an issue with my car's stereo?

Would help if you post up the radio details such as;

Make
Model

If a factory radio, post the Year, Make, Model of the vehicle.

Apologies.

It's a factory model: Toyota Verso, 2012.

As I said, it worked perfectly well before. All I can think of is that I downloaded a lot of free ringtones from Zedge and perhaps that created a folder that has been set as the default.

Dropping a .nomedia file in the directory with the ringtones might help. (instructions on creating one are easily searchable)
I've done this with ringtones and my podcast folder and I seem to remember not getting my podcasts thrown at me the few times I plug my phone into a car via USB.
