MTP error on Android - how to fix it

There was a problem with my old Prestigio phone today. When I turned on the phone, after the battery was discharged and after it stood in that state for a couple of days, an MTP error occurred when turning on the phone.

By the way, I'm not sure what version of the system it is, maybe it's 5.x.x. I tried to hold down the power button to reboot it, but it didn't work. It still stands like this, only that empty row (black) moves slowly into the rows below and so on.

Could be the firmware is corrupted and it needs to be re-flashed? Or could be a hardware fault, that needs repair or replacement?

It's alright. I waited for the battery to discharge completely. When I plugged the phone back into the charger, it turned on normally.
