Multi outlet micro USB phone charger wanted.

My buddy has a bar and as expected, many of the patrons are carrying smart phones.

He is also the official black hole of cell phone reception, a problem that we are addressing by him calling Comcast to get internet and Wi-Fi so that the data side of folks phones will work. You can normally get text to work, but calls and all data are no go.

Any ways, the point is that with phones working so hard for signal, battery life is terrible. We talked about how nice it would be to have a single table in the corner with like 5 or so charge ports that folks could bump charge with. I thought maybe I could look at Amazon and find a bank of charging ports on one bar style device, but it seems that no o one has yet invented the product we want to buy.

Have you any ideas or seen a charger like this so that multiple folks with standard micro USB ports can plug in, hell, throw in a couple iPhone plugs and it sweetens sweetest deal even more.

I think I saw something in Walmart in the electronics section, something like a USB man with many USB ports(5 I think), you can can connect your charger cables (If they are USB to MicroUSB of course) and connect all your phones.

Don't know the price, but must be cheap.

I can see it now... Three S3's and a couple of iPhones sitting on a table waiting for someone to swipe one - or spill their beer on.

Sounds like a nice idea strewn with landmines...

What bars need is something like track lighting for USB power sockets. All you need is a nice big regulated power supply that can provide 5VDC and a lot of current and some strips of metal to run all along the bar, walls, or wherever you want to let people recharge. The only tough part would be making a USB "A" socket interface that could withstand use by bar patrons. maybe make it out of a small block of wood. Even better, skip the socket altogether and have the cable coming out of the block.

Burn the bar's logo into the sides of the block, drill a dummy socket to plug the other end into, and you've got a necklace. Sell 'em cheap to the patrons, and you have some free advertising. Or lend 'em out, since they can't be used anywhere else.
