Music not showing in Library

Hi,
I have a MotoG5 - Nougat.

The problem is that, no matter where I upload it, no mp3 is shown in the Library.
I stored my music in the folder "Music", by using Android File Transfer.
I
I tried to use different apps for playing music, but all of them including the default one, see an empty library.

I have stopped, relaunched and enabled all possible Google services and apps, granting them all possible permissions. At some time, actually, the "media" service showed something wrong and crashed. Now it's running ok, still the Library is empty.

I have tried with a 3rd party app called "media scanner" to force a media rescan, and in fact it sees a lot of media files, but when I switch to any media player, still the Library is empty.

The only way I can play some music is with VLC. VLC sees an empty library but still it lets me exploring the folders so I can play mp3s (but individually, so it is really a bad workaround).

I am about to do a factory reset but I would like to hear your suggestions first

Thank you
Alex

Install a file explorer such as astro or solid explorer from the play store.
Verify that the mp3s are in the music folder on your device.
Install a music player from the play store.
Fire it up and it should automatically find your mp3s. If not you may have to get into the music player settings and choose the folder

Hi,
I already installed a file manager and the files are there, in the Music folder. I also installed a music player, but it does not see any music.
Thank you

You may need to open the music players settings and tell it to look in the music folder.
If it still isn't working then maybe the mp3s are corrupt
