Music Player App

The Music player app seems to be HTC version and it has many annoyances.

Where do I find the stock Android one? In Personalization widget list, it shows the Android player icon, but when you try to use it, it is the same HTC version.

HTC has made some tweaks upon the stock android music player...
so u cannot find the stock player as is..
U can try out Winamp or poweramp music players from market..

Hmmm... when you say the stock option is there, it could be that the HTC version is just set as default, so removing that default might give you a dialog that will let you chose the stock app the next time. Go to launcher/menu/manage applications/all and look for the htc music app, tap it, then chose "clear defaults". I can upload the stock version too if you like (it's opensource after all), but it might not work with your OS version (I'm on 2.3.4)

The stock Android music player is pretty barebones. Personally, I think you'd be better off with another music player. TuneWiki can do everything that the stock music player can do, and it can stream Internet radio stations, and music videos, lyrics, etc. Or if you want something that can play file types that aren't natively supported by Android (like WMA) you may want to try something like Boomboxoid (free) or PowerAmp (~$5).
