Music player blues

Here is my dilemma, I have a Galaxy S3 and I want to continue to listen to my music even when I open another app. I like to listen to my music and I like to play my games but as soon as I start a game app the music stops playing. Is there a music app or setting change that will keep playing music regardless of starting a new app?

Really? What music player are you using? Mine still continues playing.

As chanchan05 stated, on my Tab the 'music player' app, and Winamp app both keep playing even when playing a 'noisy' game. Pretty sure that it works that way on my wife's S3 as well.

So in addition to which app you are using, perhaps you can let us know which phone model (there are several), which Android version, and which carrier.

I am not sure but it is the one that comes preinstalled on the phone. Its icon is labeled "Music Player" and looks similar to the "Music Hub" Icon. My model is SGH-T999.

Well that's odd. My S3 mini, my Tab and my brother's S3 all continues playing music even if I open other apps or games. Does it happen on all games?
