I have a Zenfone 6 currently running Kitkat. I've tried googling for this problem, but all I get is people who have their ringtones showing up in Google Music. This does not happen in my case - ringtones and notifications don't show up in Google Music, and music doesn't show up in the notification/ringtone picker.
Problem is, I don't use Google Music as my music player and have no intention to do so ever. My player of choice is JetAudio, which works very well except that it does pick up files in the notification and ringtone folders, helpfully listing them under "unknown artist" and occasionally playing them when I'm shuffling my whole library with predictably annoying results.
Adding a .nomedia file to the notification and ringtone folders would cause the notification picker to not see them either, so it isn't an option.
Is there any way of selectively preventing an app from accessing specific folders? Preventing access to ALL folders except a whitelist would work as well.
