Music player

Why can't I get any of the media players I download to play any of the music on my phone? They will only play speech audio clips I have on my device.

i think most of us don`t understand you question .

as far as i understand i suggest you to use google play.

No, the volume level sucks using the basic music player. That's my biggest complaint about this phone coming from an iPhone 6+. That phone's music player was awesome and compared to this one on the 2 XL; it's almost night and day.

Are you attempting to play music that was copied from your iPhone? If so, it's possible that those files may be protected with Apple's DRM. I think it's more likely that the problem is with the media files rather than the media apps you've tried.

I believe some people have reported luck if you copy the files to a PC first and then to the Pixel 2 XL. I'll see if I can dig up some other threads on the topic...

Thanks a lot for your help, I appreciate it...

Or get the beta from the official site (forum membership needed).

But we still don't understand the original problem. I don't think it is iTunes unless the library is very old: iTunes music has been DRM-free for a very long time now (I have music purchased from iTunes on my phone as well as other sources, and it all works fine). And I've used PowerAmp, Neutron and USB Audio Player Pro on my Pixel 2, and all work fine.
