Help Music transfer

sorry this is a duplicate.

I want to transfer music files from my computer to my ZTE Valet. I follow the directions on the "Play Music" app which are pretty basic: drag and drop files to the Music folder. The only problem is I can't find a Music folder on my phone. I tried dropping them in the Audio folder, but my phone can't find them.

Connect the phone to th computer. Find the SD card. Create a new folder named Music. (Case may count, it depends on the app, so use an upper-case M.)

I had tried that before and I can't. There is no "create new folder" command when I right-click on SD card.
After a bit more searching, I think the problem is the file format - WMA. I have to convert them to MP3. Any suggestions for an app to do that?

These programs use a pc. I use Windows versions and believe there are ones for Linux and Apple machines.
