The only feature i Hate about the S3 is the sound muting feature..

Why doesnt it Mute your whole device???

I've been cought out at work a few times now, opening a video or playing a game while my phone is on mute & the sound of the video app / game / any APP starts blaring out loud sounds!

Please fix this total f*ckup google developers!

mute should mean mute, not mute the home screen for fks sake!

AND WHY cant you mute the CAMERA snap sound???????????

Settings > sound > volume > lower "media volume" to 0 and that'll solve the video/games problem.

Google doesn't need to fix anything, you just need to learn how to use your phone.
In the same page you can lower your system volume which I think is what the camera uses.

Either way this functionality is pretty stupid. what device in the world (TV, PC, Stereo etc) has a mute button that doesn't mute everything? WTF?

Problem is, every time i leave WORK, i turn my sound back on. meaning that i have to keep changing all the levels every time i mute and unmute. - not cool

having a system wide 'mute' its pretty simple and has been used on electronics since day 1.

and NO the camera sound CAN NOT BE TURNED OFF

You can turn the camera sound off, you do so in the camera settings. Just open the camera, click on the gear and then scroll to shutter sound and turn off.

The video player has a separate volume to the rest because you might want sound in your videos but still want silent notifications, I. E. If you wanted to show someone something at work.

It makes sense to me as I use it
