MX2 box V bt you view

Hi,

I have a MX2 box and a BT youview box but they don't seem to like each other

They are both connected to my router by ethernet cable and both work fine when the other is not connected.

However when both are connected to the router only one connects to the internet? One seems to stop the other from connecting?

Any ideas what might be going on?

Check the homehub (if you're using youview, I presume you have a BT homehub) admin panel, are both the devices being assigned the same IP address? Have you turned DHCP on or off?

Hi, thanks for the reply. They are running off different IP addresses. I haven't touched the DHCP (wouldn't no what I was looking for) however, I did a bit of messing about last night (not a clue what I was doing) and with the ethernet cables in different positions in the router they both now seem to be working????

Sometimes, a bit of messing about with no clue what you're doing is all it takes.

Fwiw, my youview box loses connection sometimes and needs the ethernet cable unplugged and re inserted to sort it.
