My MXQ box won't let me select factory reset/wipe data when I go into recovery mode the batteries are good in the remote.any thoughts

Have you tried making the selection with a USB mouse?
And if the recovery doesn't recognize a USB mouse try a PC keyboard, arrows to navigate, enter or space to select, esc to go back.
