Mxq OTT tv box update

Good Afternoon,
I have an Mxq ott tv box which has been working perfectly using Kodi 16.1. However this week it has come to my attention that the New Krypton Kodi 17+ needs 5.1 lollipop firmware in the box in order to be installed. Many addons will eventually not be working on the 4.4 kitkat version ( the one that I have).
My question is: Is there a way that I can update my Mxq Ott tv Box to 5.1 lollipop.
Hope someone has a solution. Thank you

NO NO NO DONT EVEN TRY IT- I DID AND TOOK ME A MONTH TO GET IT BACK TO USABLE CONDITION AND LOST THE USE OF THE REMOTE ONLY RUNS WITH A MOUSE NOW.
I UPGRADED TO MYGICA 1900 PRO AND IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY
