My android box is making my tv reset. Confused.

Hi there internet,

I have recently brought a ott tv box 4x cpu 4x gpu from a family friend.

When i plug my new android box via my TV's hdmi port. My television randomly turns on and off after a few minutes. I have a sony bravia hd tv, if it helps? The normal tv (freeview) works as normal, only happens when i plug this android box to the tv.

I have tried changing hdmi cables, trying different ports & even tried updating the box and turning the android box on & off.

Its getting very frustrating, as its brand new. Can anyone help me please or give me advice? & please can you make it simple, for example like a idiots guide. As I'm new to all this lol.

Thank you :)

turn off your cec settings in your settings on the tv and it'll stop reseting it self well for mine atleast hope this helps

... if that doesn't work, try turning on cec on the tv and the ott box. If you run it through a receiver match that as well. anything in the HDMI path. Many companies have made up proprietary names for this feature.

(Trade names for CEC are Anynet+ (Samsung), Aquos Link (Sharp), BRAVIA Link and BRAVIA Sync (Sony), HDMI-CEC (Hitachi), E-link (AOC), Kuro Link (Pioneer), INlink (Insignia), CE-Link and Regza Link (Toshiba), RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) (Onkyo), RuncoLink (Runco International), SimpLink (LG), T-Link (ITT), HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync, VIERA Link (Panasonic), EasyLink (Philips), and NetCommand for HDMI (Mitsubishi).)

The cec is a "feature" of HDMI allowing the different devices to "talk" to each other.

I have the very same problem with an Idroidnation box hooked up to a Samsung smart TV. There is no way to turn off that "feature", so I never know when the TV will go on or off when it is hooked up to the Android box via an HDMII cable...
