My battery life just got even better somehow!

Until last week, I would generally lose about 2-3% per hour while sitting idle, with the phone "optimized" (meaning Wifi is off, no major app syncing, just push email and sync, etc).

Since last week, I have been amazed that the phone is now seeming to only lose 1.0 to 1.5% per hour. Actually when I went to bed last night the phone had been unplugged for 15 hours and was at 86%!

Not sure what has changed....either it is a battery monitor calibration thing, or something has changed perhaps with Hotmail syncing more efficiently. Or maybe something has been more efficient with AT&Ts LTE signal here in Chicago.

Anyway, it was a welcome surprise. My battery is now 3 months old so I don't think it's just that my battery has been "broken in"

Did you get an update recently?

Nope.....I posted in another thread that my phone can never communicate with the "update server" on AT&T so I don't have the new update. I'm still on "***UCALEM" which is what was installed when I got the phone early July.

I found that on all 3 smartphones that I have own (Nokia N97, HTC Desire Z and SGS3) the battery life tends to increase a bit after a few weeks. The instruction manual on my DZ actually said this would be the case for modern smartphone batteries. New batteries supposedly do not last as long as those that have been used for a month.
