Are you mounting the SD Card from the Droid after it is connected? Lots of people don't realized they need to do that. (Drag down the notifications, click on the USB symbol, and press Mount).

If you are mounting it, and still not getting anything... let me guess, you're running Vista 64 bit? For some odd reason, a large segment of 64 bit OS users (but far from all) seem to be having a problem with this. See Issue 4903 - android - Can't mount DROID to PC - Project Hosting on Google Code for lots more info and a ton of troubleshooting ideas.

Fomer BB user with the same-ish problem yesterday. It was nothing to do with Drivers or anything complicated I found out

Dismount the SD card, then remove the battery and wait a couple of minutes before reinserting the card and battery and switching on.

Simple solution but works like the infamous BB battery pull.

Hope this helps.
