I have successfully connected my phone to computer many times and my son has also used it with his ipod (different cables). Recently my son tried to connect his ipod. The ipod showed it was charging but the transfer box 'thing' didnt come up on the computer. I tried my samsung phone and this too charged but the computer did not show any other proof of connection. I hope someone can offer me some advice but in easy to read language as I am not very tech savvy. Cheers

Perhaps the "autorun" option is turned off somehow...("autorun" is the default action the computer will take when you plug in a media device...fyi) To check this, try going into "Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > AutoPlay" and scroll to the very bottom and click "Reset all defaults" and see if that helps. Let me know what happens...
