my Droid RAZR issues...

I purchased the razr about 3 weeks ago and these are the issues I have encountered so far.

Overall the phone is great, extremely fast, decent battery life, and best screen I have ever used in direct sunlight.

Unfortunately twice now my phone has randomly died. The first time it happened my phone was on low battery, about 20% left and simply wouldn't unlock when I pressed the power button. The phone was completely unresponsive when I pressed the button to unlock the phone after locking it minutes before. I assumed at the time that the battery may have just died, and plugged it in when I got into my car. After being plugged into my car charger for about 20 minutes it still wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into my home charger and still wouldn't turn on. Finally the next morning when I woke up it turned on and booted up.

After a few days I figured it may have been a random one time issue....then it happened again, this time with 70% battery. It wouldn't unlock again at about 6pm (by not unlocking i mean the screen wouldn't even turn on when I pressed the power button), I had an hour+ drive home where it was charging the entire time and it still didn't turn back on, once again it took till the next day for it to finally turn on.

My next issue, the second time it died I tried taking out and reinserting the sim/sd cards. As you know one press pops the cards out, another press locks them back into place. The SD card will no longer lock into place. Pressing it just keeps ejecting it and it wont "stick" in any longer. Fortunately shutting the "door" on the outside of the phone pushes it far enough in that it still reads the card, but occasionally it has said unable to read SD card and ill have to push harder on the door to get it to read the card.

Just thought I should note my issues since they seem to be rare. In all honestly im planning to return it the day the Galaxy Nexus is released, otherwise I would have exchanged it for another razr the first time it died.
Another thing, the phone gets very hot when planning tiny tower...just sayin'....

take it for what its worth, just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with an otherwise awesome phone.

Issue #1 seems like you have a rogue app locking up the device. If it occurs again hold the volume down key while also pressing the power key and after about 15-20 seconds the phone should reboot. This replicates the same thing that a battery pull would do.

Issue #2 is a little harder to fix. It may be the mechanism is broken. Make sure you pull the card all the way out before reinstalling it. Sometimes just popping it out without pulling it all the way won't work because the mechanism doesn't disengage all the way. Other than that make sure you are inserting it correctly.

hmmm rogue app is interesting...i think i may have been playing tiny tower around the time it has happened, and tiny tower doesnt show up in the market for the razr i had to dl the apk from google to get it....

and after pulling the SD card completely out in now locks into place again...thanks for the info lol...
