my galaxy young voice record is not working

anytime i click on the record button of my recorder on my galaxy young, it doesn't work.some friends have even advice me to download different applications from the google market but none of them is working. i don't know, but its just like anything that records on my phone doesn't work.

Can you make outgoing calls and people can hear you? If they can, then you don't have a mic problem. Have you tried a battery pull?

I have to believe that carriers are blocking this ability due to legal or potential legal reasons. I know that Verizon blocked the ability in some of their ltest upgrdes to the galaxy S line. Unfortunately, without rooting your phone, it will continue to be blocked.
