My Game App icons disappeared after a system update - How do I get them back

Yesterday, I just updated my phone's system that changes its overall look. After my phone restarted, suddenly all of my game apps that were on my screen disappeared! I tried to get them back in the phone's App finder, but it wouldn't let me place the game apps back on the screen. Instead, they are now stuck on Game Launcher and I have no way of getting these apps back the conventional way. The only way I can

I don't like this feature. Because I have to go through the repetition of clicking the middle button, going back into the Game Launcher, and changing/returning to the game. And my games are all unsorted; I sorted my games on the home screen into folders and Game Launcher lacks this feature. Now all my games app icons have disappeared after the system updates. But with all my Game App icons stuck in Game Launcher, I am unable to get them out and put my home screen back the way it was before the update.

Is there another way to get them back on the home screen?

Turned off Game Launcher. I tried "Locate App" after I held my finger on it, but it showed me a page on the App page but I see nothing. I then tried restarting the phone to see if that'll refresh my removed game apps, but I still don't see them.

So, it didn't worked.

Much late, but if anyone finds this and has the same issue:
1) Disable Game Launcher per instructions found anywhere
2) Open settings -> Apps -> find Game Launcher
3) Clear data for that

Games should show up in your app drawer and you will be able to add shortcuts to them again.
