my Google nexus 4 phone suddenly hangs in the middle of an app ...... it is a 3 months old phone.... please help ....
 
Is it the same app that causes the problem? Some apps aren't coded as well as others: if it is one particular, you might want to look for an alternative that does the same task.

Another possibility is that you have run out of space. If you have less than about 1GB free, you could try removing some things - HD video for instance takes up a lot of space.
