Hi and welcome to Android Forums. 
Do you mean that the entire ideatab stops functioning once you have inserted a sim card? If so, remove and try a different one to see if that works. If you don't have a sim card in there at all, does the ideatab otherwise function normally?
Or do you mean that once you insert a sim card you can't use any of the functions of that card, such as 3G browsing etc?
It would be very useful if you could provide some more info on what exactly stops functioning when you insert the sim card please. You can either ask another guest question, remembering to provide more information, or you can register on the forums using the link in my signature below.
