LED notifcations problem

Hey all,
I just got a new LG G3 and I found out a out the LED notifications when it flashed in my eye when I was looking at the back (lol). I promptly found how to "turn it off". I put that sentense in quotes because it didn't work, I set LED notifications off and it still flashes when I get a text. How can I fix this? Why is it doing this? Has anyone else had this problem?
