When my moto G 3rd gen was charging (might be a coincidence) it restarted randomly for the 5th time in an hour. This hadn't happened before. This time was different though, as the settings changed
  • First of all the screen brightness was changed to adaptive brightness, and the normal brightness after i turned it off was a lot dimmer
  • Also the home button has stopped working, as well as the swipe up feature that brings up google
  • Also, my account has been logged out
  • Device rotation was turned back on
  • Wifi won't connect sometimes
  • My keyboard changed back to normal (i have a custom japanese to english one and it reverted back to the original)
  • Finally if it's any use i can't use developer options anymore, it just says i can't
What is happening? What new problems will arise? I haven't been able to find this problem anywhere else so could someone help me out?
Thanks ( ‘-^ )b

I use a Moto G, never encountered that issue, did you install a new app lately?

UPDATE
Now my notifications won't show up, but my phone still vibrates and sounds when I get one. Also, my lock screen has disappeared so my phone is now never locked. Also, when you swipe down you should see all the settings like wifi etc. I can't get there, I can swipe down once but it won't let me swipe a second time. My phone is slowly locking up what in the world can I do

and recently I updated to marshmallow and my SD card contained apps but it wasn't formatted yet. Is it best just to back up and factory reset?

Try the factory reset, at this point, what is there to lose? You'll still be on marshmallow though.
